Queer Voices Project

August 15, 2008

The Queer Voices Project is a research study being conducted by the University of Washington’s School of Social Work. I was recently contacted by them and asked to spread the word in hopes to get more participants for their study. It seems like a relatively straight forward survey, which is anonymous and takes measures to protect anonymity should that be a concern. Participants receive a gift certificate in thanks for their time. Queer Youth issues are very important to me and I’m happy to spread the word as best I can. Hopefully the study will help us better serve our youth in the future by shaping the services and programs available in schools, community centers, and more.

From Q Voices:

Are you between 14-19 years old? Are you gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning about your sexuality? If yes, the Q Voices Project wants to hear from you! Go to www.qvoices.org to participate in an online, totally anonymous survey that asks about your experiences being young and queer in America. By sharing your thoughts, experiences and opinions you may help shape the future of resources created for LGBTQ youth. We value your time and opinions! Go to qvoices.org and check us out, take the survey, and let your voice be heard!

If you supoort our effort, please let other people know by spreading the word far and wide; tell your LGBTQ friends, share it in your GSA, and post bulletins on your favorite websites like myspace and facebook. Thanks for your support!
