It’s Almost Over
I have to say, this has been one of the more entertaining elections in a long time. I am, as I imagine most of you are, ready for this fiasco to be over though. Today we took another large step towards having a democratic nominee as the Rules Committee of the DNC met for hours to discuss the fate of the Florida and Michigan primaries. Florida seemed like the easy one, with a unanimous vote in favor of sharing the delegates proprortionally at half their value. Michigan, of course, was a much tougher scenario and one that caused a lot of debate. In the end, the Committee took in account the exit polls and other data to reach a compromise. It of course wasn’t what what Senator Clinton was hoping for, as she expected to to get a few more delegates out of Michigan.
Before people start hollering at me about how unfair today might have been for Senator Clinton, let me say the following. Senator Clinton and Senator Obama both supported the decision to strip Florida and Michigan of their delegates. Clinton has been quoted as saying that these primaries wouldn’t count. However, the minute she becomes faced with a nomination that isn’t so presumptive anymore, she decided that Florida and Michigan should count. Her behavior with this issue reflects the very things I have come to dislike about her. You can not agree to disenfranchize two states because they elect for early primaries, and then (once those delegates prove important to you) decide that you’re the ultimate party uniter and the voice of the voiceless. It’s ridiculous, and anyone who buys this crap is insane.
That being said…this thing should be wrapped up by the end of next week. Barack is about 64 delegates away from the nomination, and most of the uncommitted super delegates will be making decisions on tuesday. I came into this primary respecting the Clintons and very hopeful for an awesome year for the Democratic Party. However, the end of it for me is a bit bittersweet. The candidate that I have supported since his announcement to run, will most likely win the nomination. While a person I thought i respected in politics, turned out to be just as dirty as Karl Rove.
PS: If you watched any of today, you probably heard this lady interrupting the entire day. It’s good to put a face, and personality with all of the hollering. The bitch is crazy.

Yesterday DNC said to Floridians: you are only a half people. And today we respond to DNC: go to hell, we then chose McCain!
I never supported the original decision to strip the delegates. I’m also a huge advocate for a more inclusive primary season, that does not give preference to two particular states. But a vote for McCain would be a ridiculous reaction to your disenfranchisement.
Also, Florida and Michigan would never have changed the inevitability of Barack Obama winning the nomination. You need to get over your anger and realize this thing was over in February.
That woman is batshit crazy. First, she’s from New York, not Florida or Michigan. Her state had their vote, it was tallied and tabulated, and New York had its say. She has no place in going off on her crazy tangent about these two states, who didn’t follow the rules as outlined, and were penalized by all of the candidates — ALL of them. So now that a decision has been made on how to handle them, Hillary can’t accept it. She won’t accept ANYTHING that isn’t in her favor. That’s what is driving my crazy about her. There are two sides to a “Never give up” attitude- One side says “Persevere until you know you can no longer persevere.” The other side says “Know when to quit.” Hillary’s problem is she doesn’t know when to quit. And instead of getting out gracefully, she’s making herself, and her party, look ridiculous. So if McCain wins in November, we’ll have her to thank. Then she and this nutjob can go drown their sorrows in some cigarettes and beer or something. Sheesh.
